Governor Tom Wolf Says ‘Thousands’ of Trailers Will Become Temporary Quarantine Units

Governor Tom Wolf and Health Secretary Dr. Rachel Levine are drafting plans to convert thousands of trailers to become temporary quarantine units. The move is the next step in the Governor’s attempt to slow the spread of COVID-19. As the number of infected cases go up throughout the state, hospitals are running out of places to quarantine individuals and families who are awaiting results from the COVID-19 test. When Governor Tom Wolf closed all non essential businesses 2 weeks ago, it included no residential park model home communities like Eagle Lake, dozens of which sprawl the eastern PA. Earlier today Governor Wolf signed an executive order allowing hospitals to use the now empty trailers as temporary quarantine housing units. Instead of testing and sending the potential virus carriers back home, the state is now mandating that all citizens who have been tested remain on a 14 day quarantine in on of the designated units.
The details of this order are still unclear but the local communities are up in arms and have started a petition to prevent this from happening.
